Elder Empowerment begins by listening to the client and family, reviewing the request, and determining whether the service can be provided safely and appropriately.
There is no minimum-hour requirement for private-duty nursing. That flexibility allows the conversation to begin with what is clinically appropriate rather than a fixed block of time. Visit length and frequency are developed after assessment and remain subject to the plan of care, required orders, staffing, nurse availability, and clinical acceptance.

Each request is reviewed individually. The descriptions below explain the available service categories; they are not a promise that every service or schedule can be accepted.
Private-duty nursing
One-to-one RN care in the home for an accepted plan of care. Scheduling can range from a focused visit to a longer block, based on assessed needs, required orders, RN competency, staffing, and availability.
RN care management
Nurse-led assessment, care-plan organization, communication, and follow-through. Care management can help a family clarify priorities, prepare questions, track changes, and coordinate across the people involved in care.
Selected skilled visits
A focused RN visit may be considered for an assessed nursing need, such as clinical observation, teaching, or monitoring. The specific task must be within scope, supported by orders when required, and accepted by the nurse.
Caregiver support
Non-nursing help may be arranged for appropriate daily support and companionship needs. Caregiver service is separate from RN care and is priced at $28–$35 per hour based on visit length, subject to staffing and service fit.

A clear, assessment-led process
The process is designed to establish fit and safety before services begin. Timing depends on the request, information available, staffing, and RN availability.
Start with a call
Share the current concern, location, preferred timing, and the kind of help you believe may be needed. Emergency needs should go to 911, not this intake line.
Complete a nursing review
An RN gathers relevant information, discusses goals and boundaries, and identifies whether an assessment, records, or provider orders are needed.
Confirm the plan and price
If the request is accepted, the service, visit length, rate, schedule, responsibilities, and any required preparations are reviewed before care starts.
Begin and reassess
Care follows the accepted plan. Changes in condition or need may require reassessment, revised orders, a different level of care, or referral elsewhere.

Caregiver support

The caregiver rate is based on visit length. This is non-nursing support and is scheduled separately from RN service.
You will have an opportunity to review the planned service, expected visit length, and applicable rate. Any assessment, supplies, travel, or after-hours considerations will be discussed before scheduling.

Elder Empowerment is led by Debbie Waldo, a registered nurse and owner who understands that families often arrive with a mix of clinical questions, practical concerns, and uncertainty about what to do next.
Her nurse-led approach begins with careful listening and a realistic review of what can be supported. The goal is not to make broad promises. It is to define the need, explain available options, identify clinical or staffing limits, and help the client and family make an informed next decision.

How much does private-duty nursing cost?

Is this an emergency nursing service?
No. Elder Empowerment does not provide emergency response through this service. Call 911 for a medical emergency or an urgent situation that requires immediate emergency evaluation.
Are provider orders required?
Orders are required when the requested nursing service or task requires them. The RN will explain what information or orders are needed after reviewing the request. Service cannot begin until applicable clinical requirements are met.
